Ultimate Potential

High–Speed Rail Corridors

Project Overview

As part of the planning stage for multiple high-speed rail corridors—including Mumbai–Hyderabad, Delhi–Amritsar, Delhi–Varanasi, Chennai–Mysuru, and Varanasi–Howrah.

Translink was engaged to prepare General Arrangement Drawings (GADs) for bridge locations crossing highways, major roads, and significant water bodies, along with layout plans for station yards and depot interfaces.

Challenges

The key challenge was managing and consolidating input data from numerous stakeholders involved across nearly 2300 km of corridors. Frequent changes in plan and profile issued by upstream consultants required continuous revisions, making it difficult to keep all GADs synchronised, updated and consistent.

Handling this volume of data and repeated rework within tight timelines was the core operational complexity.

Solutions

A controlled data-management and documentation process was established to receive, verify and track inputs, ensuring only the latest revisions entered the drafting workflow. Standardised drawing templates and drafting conventions were applied to maintain consistency across all locations.

A structured update mechanism allowed quick incorporation of alignment changes while keeping version control intact, ensuring GADs remained coordinated despite ongoing revisions.

Impact

The approach resulted in accurate, uniform and fully updated GADs for all crossings, bridges, station yards and depots. The systematic handling of inputs also helped the client manage coordination with multiple stakeholders and maintain clarity across revisions.

Overall, the work ensured timely preparation of large-scale high-speed corridor drawings with consistency and reliability.
