Ultimate Potential

RIDCOR Phase I and II Roads, Rajasthan

Project Overview

RIDCOR manages a large set of state highways and major district roads in Rajasthan. Under Phase 1 and Phase 2, a total of 1289 km was identified for pavement condition assessment. The assignment required a systematic evaluation of existing pavement health to support future maintenance planning and investment decisions.

Translink carried out the full scope of visual surveys, deflection data collection, data interpretation and rehabilitation scheme preparation, ensuring that the wide and diverse road network was covered with consistent technical standards.

Challenges

The primary challenge was the extensive geographical spread of 1289 km across different clusters, combined with a strict completion timeline that allowed limited room for delays. Managing logistics across remote stretches, maintaining uniform data quality, and coordinating daily progress in different cluserts demanded careful planning and disciplined execution.

Conducting a network-level assessment within such a short duration required both speed and methodological consistency, making it a highly execution-driven challenge.

Solutions

To address the scale and schedule pressure, the work was organized through predefined day-wise survey targets for each clusters. A central coordination mechanism was established for monitoring progress, validating daily outputs, and resolving logistical constraints in real time.

Standardized survey formats, calibration checks for FWD equipment, and continuous data synchronisation ensured that the survey outputs were consistent and reliable. This structured and tightly monitored workflow allowed the team to maintain both pace and technical integrity.

Impact

The streamlined approach enabled the successful completion of pavement evaluation for the entire network within the stipulated timeframe, delivering consistent and verifiable condition data to the client. The final outputs provided RIDCOR with a clear understanding of pavement performance trends across clusters, supporting informed decisions on maintenance prioritization and budgeting.

By completing the assignment efficiently without compromising technical accuracy, the project strengthened the overall planning framework for future upkeep of the network.
