Ultimate Potential
The Satai Ghat to Chowka section of National Highway 34 (Chainage 89+875 to 145+000 km) provides a crucial link between Chhatarpur and Jabalpur. The project, implemented under Hybrid Annuity Mode (Package 3), upgrades a two-lane facility into a four-lane corridor with improved geometry, drainage, and safety infrastructure.
The Concessionaire appointed Translink Infrastructure Consultants Pvt. Ltd. as the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) to deliver Good-for-Construction drawings and provide design support during execution, ensuring precision, constructability, and compliance with IRC / MoRTH standards.

The corridor passes through mixed rural and semi-urban terrain with multiple bridges, culverts, and habitations requiring geometric refinement. Balancing cut-and-fill quantities, ensuring adequate drainage, and achieving smooth tie-ins at bypass and urban sections were key challenges.
Maintaining continuous traffic flow and achieving rapid design approvals to keep construction on schedule demanded tight coordination between field and design teams.
Translink applied digital design tools and value-engineering principles to optimize geometry, pavement composition, and cross-drainage layouts while maintaining functional efficiency. Standardization of structural components and drainage elements reduced fabrication time and improved quality control.
The design team worked in close coordination with the Concessionaire and the Independent Engineer to deliver phased GFC packages aligned with construction progress, ensuring seamless design-build execution.
Through engineering precision and timely delivery, Translink enabled efficient, safe, and cost-optimized implementation of this key corridor. The improved highway will enhance connectivity between Chhatarpur and Jabalpur, reduce travel time, and improve safety.
The project showcases Translink’s capability to combine digital design, field responsiveness, and value engineering in delivering high-performance infrastructure under the HAM framework.
